Welcome to the basics
In this guide, we will go over 4 basic elements of Booster Theme that are special to the theme. Understanding those features/settings will help you start on the right foot with Booster.
We don't want to make this too exhaustive and will keep this simple for you, therefore we included an In-depth article link to every element down below, if you feel like you need more information about the section itself, make sure to visit those articles.
Understanding general section layout + content blocks
Let's start with 2 simple concepts but with lots of importance.
The general layout settings are the settings you'll find by default in almost every homepage section whatever it is, therefore it's important to learn how to use them because you'll use them all the time. See those settings as general settings to configure the layout and the style of your section. Lots of them are easy to understand but some might be a little more complex to understand at first sight. You will want to use those settings if you are trying to modify the general style of the section.
Content blocks are elements you can add in some sections of Booster Theme, you will mostly use them for the Call to Action section. You will want to use those blocks if you are trying to modify the content.
Understanding the layout function
We created a simple way to make the layout extremely flexible in Booster Theme, understanding it from the start is super important in order to have a great experience with the theme.
First of all, we have the Layout theme setting, using that setting you'll be able to choose a default site layout (all sections all to this setting by default), a maximum website width, border radius for big and small elements, border width, and space between your sections.
Secondly, in every section on the homepage, there is a setting called Section Layout, using that setting you'll be able to choose if you want to use the default site layout or a custom one. This is why the theme is extremely flexible for the layout. The sections don't need to follow all the same layout.
We made an example for you, you can see under that the slideshow is set to Full-width and the CTA under is set to Full-width Background. Both are not on the same layout.
Understanding the buttons settings
Buttons are crucial for your store. They are used to add products to the cart, buy products now, navigate through the online store. We made sure to create an amazing system of buttons for V5. Lots of customization settings are available for you.
We include them in the basics guide because there is one thing you absolutely need to understand about them. The primary button preset and the secondary button preset. Those are two presets, you can use in lots of places in Booster Theme. The goal of having two presets is to keep brand constancy throughout all the buttons of your website. With those two presets, no need to customize your buttons over and over, simply choose one of your presets! This really is a game-changer and will save you lots of time!
You'll be able to customize your buttons in the Button and inputs in Theme settings.

Understanding the colors settings
In booster 5.0, you can make 2 presets of colors for your store. If you are customizing one of your sections, you can select in the color combination setting: your primary or secondary combination. This way you can bring consistency to the color of your website.
Let's say you are customizing your button for a CTA. Instead of reselecting the color simply choose between your combination 1 or 2. It is really simple to use.
